This dress is the outcome of a reseatch lead project. The ‘paper dress’ was a popular
fad in Mod subcultural style in the 1960’s, where companies would print advertisements
or logos onto the garments, then send them out to advertise a product. This paper dress
is screen printed with a design from a sticker made to advertise the pirate radio station,
Radio Caroline, the first sea based and most influential pirate radio station in the UK.
The dress represents pirate radio’s links within subculture, this projec in particular,
the links of pirate radio within the Mod subculture.
